D03: Web Testing Made Easy

Automated testing of web applications is crucial but can easily become cumbersome when done with inappropriate tools.

We present a way that leverages the power of the open-source WebTest project to quickly create tests that shine with excellent maintainability and runtime performance. The ease of creation is facilitated by smooth integration into
multiple development environments especially into Eclipse.

Ease of use does not come at the expense of less power. In fact, with WebTest we will demonstrate how to even test AJAX-based Web 2.0 applications in a simple yet expressive manner.  Attend this demo to witness the creation and execution of automated WebTests as well as how to use the generated result views to examine the complete behaviour of the application under test.
