This paper describes a new approach to improve the semantic and pragmatic quality of a conceptual model through schema transformations. The quality is improved by introducing rules based on a new semantic quality parameter: extent of normalization, and two new concepts of Single-Valued Relationship Attributes and Multi-Valued Relationship Attributes.
