Educator Scholarship

Applications Due July 20th

Please note that the Scholarship Awards are very competitive.  Therefore, the committee reserves the right to decline to review incomplete applications and applications that have not been received by July 20, 2009.

OOPSLA is pleased to announce the availability of scholarships for educators from 2- and 4-year colleges and universities to participate in OOPSLA 2009 and its special Educators' Symposium. These scholarships are generously sponsored by the Association of Computing Machinery (ACM) Special Interest Group on Programming Languages (SIGPLAN).

ACM-W Scholarships

Applications Due August 1st

ACM-W provides support for women students in Computer Science and related programs (at the undergraduate or graduate levels) who wish to attend research conferences, such as OOPSLA (sponsored by SIGPLAN).  OOPSLA is proud to support and facilitate recipients of this scholarship to attend OOPSLA and be mentored by leading women in the OOPSLA community.  Please see http://women.acm.org/scholarships.html for full details on eligibility and application process for this ACM-W scholarship.

SIGPLAN Student Grants

Applications Due September 1st

Are you a student that is presenting or co-authoring a paper or poster at OOPSLA, but will not be able to attend the conference without financial assistance?  If so, then SIGPLAN (the sponsor of OOPSLA) may be willing to provide financial support for you to attend OOPSLA.  Please see http://sigplan.org/PAC.htm for full details on eligibility and application process for these SIGPLAN grants.

SIGPLAN Travel Grants

Applications Due September 1st

Are you a SIGPLAN member and would like to attend OOPSLA, but cannot because of prohibitive costs associated with:

• child care
• companion care-provider travel
• long distance international travel
