More blogosphere buzz...
Sunday, 27 July 2008
Nadyne Mielke of Microsoft and member of the OOPSLA 2008 committee found more interesting buzz on OOPSLA from the blogosphere. Here is a summary of her findings:
- A DesignFest participant comments on their design and his expectations of DesignFest: http://mmeuer.blogspot.com/2006/10/oopsla-2006-day-2-sunday-october-22.html (he's got a full trip report, so you can read the rest of his posts)
- A post to the CompUTE mailing list that has a summary (including the statement that there is some sort of OOPSLA clique): http://www.acooke.org/cute/OOPSLASumm0.html (This guy posted a LOT about OOPSLA, check out the rest of it at http://www.acooke.org/cute/index.html)
- Here's someone who took Peri's advice at the beginning of the conference seriously: http://weblogs.java.net/blog/jive/archive/2006/10/oppsla_part_i.html

Cool quote from this guy:
http://blogten.blogspot.com/2006/10/another-amazing-day-at-oopsla.html
"If you are open to learning new stuff, if you are open to searching something that can make you better, and if you are open to finding how astonishingly wrong you can be about something... then this is a place to be."
- Jim Waldo on returning to OOPSLA after a 16-year hiatus: http://www.artima.com/weblogs/viewpost.jsp?thread=182002. And check out the comments thread, too.
