This workshop is dedicated to mining software development apprenticeship pedagogical patterns. Its purpose is to supplement and extend existing pedagogical patterns with program organization patterns and socio-cultural patterns that support the apprenticeship model. The organizers will realize this goal by conducting a pattern mining workshop with authors of existing pedagogical patterns, people in industry who have a need for apprenticeship-type patterns, and students and faculty of the New Mexico Highlands University Software Development Apprenticeship program. After introductions and context-setting, the participants will discuss problems in academia or industry that might be solved by apprenticeship pedagogical patterns. These problem-solution pairs will be elaborated into a set of complementary pedagogical patterns, program organization patterns and socio-cultural patterns that support the apprenticeship pedagogical model. Ultimately, the results of this workshop will serve as input to a series of workshops dedicated to this topic.
