Optimisation of Service Provision for Composite Web Services (CWS)

The processing of Composite Web Services(CWS) is poorly managed. CWS are very complex and therefore should not be handled as a single unit. By splitting a CWS into its constituent parts it can be managed as multiple Single Web Services(SWS). Management of elements requiring serial execution require strict supervision, nevertheless, the authors propose that splitting a CWS into its various elements will increase processing efficiencies. In particular the splitting will improve response time to the client, reduced costs, etc. The processing of each element may be governed by a Web Service Level Agreement (WSLA) which must comply with the overall WSLA encompassing the entire CWS. This process will be managed by an agent which works independently of the service providers in order to provide the best solution for the clients quality of experience requirements. The splitting of the CWS into its element can be independent of the underlying processing mechanisms and therefore becomes a valuable augmentation to current web service systems.
