You may register using the online system or by mailing the printed registration form. You may also register in-person at the conference. You cannot register by telephone. You may register for the full week, or for specific days.

Registering Online

Online registrations must be paid with a credit card. Although the online system we use for credit card information transmission is secure, some users prefer to FAX their credit card information to us separately. The online system offers you the choice of providing your credit card number online or via fax. Payment is made in US dollars.

We process your credit card payment when we receive your registration. If the credit card charge is successful, we will mail you a confirmation letter within two weeks. We cannot fax or email confirmations. If the credit transaction is unsuccessful, we will promptly notify you by phone, fax or email.

The online system can only be used for your original registration. Please read Changing Your Registration if you need to make changes.

Note: In order to access the secure server for registration, your browser must include 128-bit encryption. If you are using Internet Explorer Version 5.0 or earlier, you must upgrade to the High Encryption Pack . To find out what version you are using, pull down the HELP menu, and then select the last item: ABOUT INTERNET EXPLORER.

Registering Using the Printed Form

As an alternative to online registration you may use a printed registration formPDF (PDF: 100k). When using the printed form you may pay by credit card, check, or money order. International payment must be by credit card, International Money Order, or drafts drawn against a U.S. bank account.

Checks must be payable to "OOPSLA 2003."

Changing Your Registration

If you have already registered—either on-line, by fax or mail—please send your requested changes by fax to +1 (407) 366-4138, or use our secure online update system. Your Registration Number must be included in your message.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

Cancellations may be made up until 9 October 2003. There is $50 cancellation fee. Refunds will be made within four weeks of the end of the conference. There is no refund for cancellations after 9 October 2003.

At any time you may transfer your registration to another person. To do this, write and sign a note authorizing the person to attend in your place. The person will need to show the letter when checking in at the conference.

"No-shows" are not refundable and are liable for the full registration fee. If you can’t attend, and it is past the refund date, then consider transferring your registration to another person.

What Your Registration Includes

Conference registration includes admission to Technical Sessions and receptions. You also receive a copy of the conference proceedings.

Conference registration and tutorial registration are separate. In other words, you must explicitly register for each tutorial you wish to attend, and you may register for tutorials without registering for the conference. Tutorial registration includes admission into the selected tutorial, one copy of the tutorial notes for that session, and lunch for the day of the selected tutorial. You do not have to register for the conference in order to attend tutorials; however, tutorial participants who wish to attend other OOPSLA offerings must register for the conference.

There is a fee for attending the Educators’ Symposium.

The Educators' Symposium fee includes admission into the symposium, the Educators' Symposium notes, and lunch on the day of the symposium.

Workshop participants must be accepted into the workshop and pay the full conference or a one-day conference fee. Note that this year there is no fee for workshops due to a generous contribution by IBM.

Panel participants, session chairs, and speakers must register and pay for the conference.

The Doctoral Symposium is a closed event. Please contact the Doctoral Symposium chairman, johnmc@cs.clemson.edu, for information.

Student conference registration includes admission into Technical Sessions, tutorials, receptions, and the conference proceedings. Students may attend tutorials of their choice free of charge. Tutorial lunches and tutorial notes are not included in the student fees (tutorial notes can be purchased in the registration area). Seating availability is on a first-come first-served basis outside the tutorial rooms, ten minutes before the start of each tutorial. Please note that seating priority will be reserved to confirmed Student Volunteers. Students wishing to guarantee seating in tutorials may purchase seats at the regular rates.

Sell-out Policy

Registrations are processed on a first-come, first-served, basis. On-site registrations are subject to the availability of space and materials. OOPSLA reserves the right to limit Conference, Tutorials, Workshops, Educators' Symposium, DesignFest, and Special Event registrations.
