This poster presents AmbientTalk, an experimental prototype-based distributed language that was conceived to be deployed on mobile devices such as smart phones. AmbientTalk is a reflectively extensible kernel and serves as a basis to experiment with innovative language features that are targeted towards such devices. The poster focusses on the fundamental design characteristcs of AmbientTalk. These define a new programming language paradigm wich we call Ambient-Oriented Programming.
